Kyle Bebee
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
Kyle Bebee is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder for Spicewood. He has over 20 years of investment experience and is responsible for corporate strategy, business development, strategic partnerships and investment management. Prior to Spicewood, Kyle founded MBP Energy which sources, acquires and manages mineral investments in a family office structure. Kyle was the Co-Founder, Managing Partner and Chief Financial Officer for Lucid Energy Group, and began his career as an analyst for the Blackstone Group in New York, NY.
Kyle received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Texas A&M University.
Morgan Luker
Senior Vice-President, Engineering & Partner
Morgan Luker is a Senior Vice President of Engineering & Partner for Spicewood. She is responsible for managing, pursuing, and underwriting acquisitions. Morgan has 15 years of finance and industry experience. Prior to Spicewood, Morgan led acquisition and divestiture efforts for Raymond James' Energy Investment Banking team. Previously she worked as a Director at the Bank of Montreal, and as a Reservoir Engineer at ExxonMobil.
Morgan received her Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina where she graduated magna cum laude.
Beau Fournet
Operating Partner
Beau Fournet is an Operating Partner at Spicewood, focusing on strategy, organizational development, and growth initiatives, leveraging 30 years of experience in investment and leadership. Previously, he was a Managing Director and Partner at HBK Capital Management, overseeing recruiting, strategic planning, and risk management. He began his career as a strategy consultant with The Boston Consulting Group.
Since 2014, Beau has been on the LSU Foundation Board, chairing the Investment Committee from 2016 to 2024 and currently serving as Chair of the Board.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Louisiana State University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
PETE COULTER
Chief Technology Officer
Pete Coulter serves as the Chief Technology Officer for Spicewood. He has 20 years of experience in technology in private equity. He is responsible for building our scalable technology platform across our mineral management software and reserves database management. Previously, Pete was a CTO for numerous private equity companies including Southwestern Family of Companies and also University Laundry (which was acquired by Tide Cleaners, a subsidiary of Proctor & Gamble).
Pete received a Bachelor of Business and a Masters in Business from Baylor University.
trevor Rice
Vice President
Trevor serves as Vice President at Spicewood. He is responsible for the evaluation of energy investment opportunities, financial modeling, due diligence, execution, and monitoring. Prior to joining Spicewood, Trevor worked at Civitas Resources as a Senior Financial Analyst focusing on M&A, restructuring, and corporate finance. He began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Barclays supporting their Global Natural Resources Group.
Trevor received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
Cannon Allen
Vice President
Cannon serves as Vice President at Spicewood. He is responsible for marketing, investor relations, fundraising, and business development.
Prior to joining Spicewood, Cannon spent seven years at a Single Family Office investing in a diverse range of industries and asset classes in both control and non-control positions. He began his career as a Financial Analyst at ConAgra Brands.
Cannon earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Economics from Wheaton College (IL).
Mike McCormack
Senior Vice President & Controller
Michael McCormack is an SVP and the Controller for Spicewood. He leads a team responsible for all operational accounting, budgeting, forecasting and operations management. He has over 20 years of experience in public and industry accounting fields with over 14 years specifically in the Oil & Gas industry. He has held accounting leadership positions at MBP Energy, Santa Fe Midstream, Lucid Energy Group and Southern Union Gas Services. On numerous cases, Mike has implemented accounting systems, back-office processes and reporting infrastructure for different businesses and management teams.
Michael holds a BBA degree in Accounting from Abilene Christian University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Texas.
Tanner Land
Director, Land & Business Development
Tanner Land is the Director of Land & Business Development at Spicewood, where he leads sourcing strategy, land negotiations, and business development across core basins. He is responsible for identifying acquisition opportunities, managing land operations, and supporting corporate growth initiatives. Prior to joining Spicewood, Tanner held land and commercial roles at Pioneer Natural Resources and ExxonMobil, with a focus on upstream M&A and development. He brings extensive experience in mineral and royalty acquisition strategy, basin analysis, and relationship-driven sourcing.
Tanner received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Energy Commerce from Texas Tech University.
LESLIE WILSON
Land Manager
Leslie Wilson is the Land Manager at Spicewood Mineral Partners. She has over 17 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and is responsible for all mineral land management, which includes title, implementation of mineral management systems and processes, contract negotiation and division order maintenance.
Prior to Spicewood, Leslie spent four years as the mineral asset manager for Platform Energy. Previously, she worked at Black Mountain Oil & Gas where she managed all assets for their mineral company, Fort Worth Mineral Company and fellow NGP-backed Wing Resources I. Leslie began her career with Royalty Clearinghouse LLC in Austin, Texas.
Leslie received her Bachelor of Liberal Arts in government from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mike Whitlock
VP of Engineering & Reserves
Mike serves as VP of Engineering & Reserves at Spicewood. He is responsible for the evaluation of energy investment opportunities, reserves management, and technical systems integration. Prior to joining Spicewood Partners, he worked at Samson Resources as a Senior Reservoir Engineer, Production Engineer, and Corporate Reserves Engineer focused on East Texas, Anadarko, and Powder River Basins.
Mike received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Oklahoma State University.
Zach Petter
Reservoir Engineer
Zach is a reservoir engineer at Spicewood Partners. He is responsible for the evaluation of energy investment opportunities, reserves management, and technical systems integration.
Prior to joining Spicewood Partners, he worked at ConocoPhillips as a reservoir engineer where he helped plan and execute ~1 billion worth of new wells and managed ~30,000 tier 1 acres in the Permian Basin. Prior to ConocoPhillips, Zach worked at Concho Resources and Lewis Energy with Permian and Eagle Ford experience in drilling, completions, production, and facility engineering.
Zach received his Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University.
AMELIA ALFORD
Senior Fund Accountant
Amelia serves as Senior Fund Accountant at Spicewood. She is responsible for operational accounting, budgeting, and forecasting. Prior to joining Spicewood Partners, she worked at Merit Energy as a Property Accountant. She began her career as an auditor at KPMG.
Amelia received her Bachelor and Masters of Accountancy at the University of Mississippi .
