Kyle Bebee

Managing Partner

Kyle Bebee is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner for Spicewood Minerals. He has over 20 years of energy related experience and is responsible for all corporate strategy, business development, strategic partnerships and the management of acquisitions and divestitures.

Prior to Spicewood Minerals, Kyle founded MBP Energy, which sources, acquires and manages mineral investments in a family office structure. Previously Kyle was the co-founder, Managing Partner and Chief Financial Officer for Lucid Energy Group. He began his career as an analyst for the Blackstone Group in New York City.

Kyle received his Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Texas A&M University.

John Golden

Partner

John Golden is a Co-Founder and Partner for Spicewood Minerals where he is responsible for all marketing and investor relations, fund operations, fundraising and business development. John has over 20 years of investment and finance related business experience with a focus on alternative investments.

Most recently, he overlooked Advisory for the Western and Central regions of UBS Investment Bank. Previously he held several Execution and Advisory roles for other investment banks, including Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets and Citigroup.

John received his Bachelor of Business Administration in finance from Texas Christian University.

Austin Gaton

Senior Vice President, Engineering

Austin Gaton is Senior Vice President of Engineering at Spicewood Minerals. He has over 12 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and is responsible for all engineering and fund operations, acquisitions and divestiture underwriting, and business development.

Prior to Spicewood Minerals, Austin spent two years at MBP Energy where he focused on engineering and fund operations. Previously, he worked at Samson Resources where he managed over 500,000 net mineral acres of leasehold and assessed over $1 billion of acquisitions all within the major US shale basins.

Austin received his Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma.

 

Mike McCormack

Senior Vice President and Controller

Mike serves as Senior Vice President and Controller at Spicewood Minerals. He is responsible for all operational accounting, budgeting, forecasting and operations management.

Mike has over 20 years of experience in public and industry accounting, 14 of which were specifically focused in the energy industry. He has held several accounting leadership positions with MBP Energy, Santa Fe Midstream, Lucid Energy Group, and Southern Union Gas Services. He has been responsible for the implementation of several accounting systems, back office process design and reporting infrastructure which support management teams and their organizations growth.

Mike received his Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Abilene Christian University. He is a certified public accountant licensed in Texas.

Ryan Lindsay  

Geologic Advisor 

Ryan Lindsay is a Geologic Advisor for Spicewood Minerals. He has over eight years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He is responsible for all geologic interpretations, acquisition and divestiture underwriting and business development. 

Previously, Ryan was an exploration geologist for Cimarex Energy. Prior to Cimarex, he worked at Samson Resources where he led a business development team focused on underwriting opportunities within 15 U.S. basins with expertise in the Permian Basins and the Scoop / Stack plays.

Ryan received a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in geoscience from Baylor University. 

 

Mike Whitlock

Senior Reservoir Engineer 

Mike serves as Senior Reservoir Engineer at Spicewood Partners. He is responsible for the evaluation of energy investment opportunities, reserves management, and technical systems integration. 

Prior to joining Spicewood Partners, he worked at Samson Resources as a Senior Reservoir Engineer, Production Engineer, and Corporate Reserves Engineer focused on East Texas, Anadarko, and Powder River Basins. 

Mike received his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma State University.

trevor Rice

Senior Associate

Trevor serves as Senior Associate at Spicewood Partners. He is responsible for evaluation of energy investment opportunities, financial modeling, due diligence, execution, and monitoring.

Prior to joining Spicewood Partners, he worked at Civitas Resources as a Senior Financial Analyst focusing on M&A, restructuring, and corporate finance. He began his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Barclays supporting their Global Natural Resources Group.

Trevor received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
